At Sobral, the team stayed on for an additional seven weeks to obtain good reference photographs. On July 18, they began dismantling their instruments and packing at a more leisurely pace than had been done at Principe,  They left Sobral on July 22, leaving the packed cases with their local host to send to England, were they arrived several weeks later.
