The production of the Global Science Opera in 2019 will be dedicated to the theme of Gravity. Marking the centenary of the expeditions to the island of Príncipe and Sobral, the Opera’s synopsis will chart the development of the understanding of gravity by mankind, from Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity to today’s most advanced knowledge of Gravitational Waves.

Students from schools in Brazil, Portugal and Sao Tome & Principe are responsible for co-creating the main part of the story whose live performance with broadcasting for the whole world will take place on the 29th of May 2019.

The premiere of the Opera, now with the participation of many other countries, is scheduled for the 20th of November, 2 PM CET.
